I don't know if anyone has answered your questions but this is how you can do it in the Feb release of the UDK.

1. Select the Static Mesh in the Content Browser
2. Go to your level and right click where you want the mover to be
3. Select add InterpActor xxx
4. With the object still selected go to Kismet
5. Right Click to bring up the sub-menu
6. Select "New Event Using InterpActors xxx"
7. In the side sub-menu that appears select Mover

This will then create the nodes in Kismet for you and then you just go into the matinee node and set your key frames.

Also be sure to open the properties of of the move object and set the Collision Type property under the Collision section to COLLIDE_BlockAll.
